In the words of the Quran, an earthquake in the eyes of believers and non-believers

The sudden event of an earthquake, which shakes the heart, brings terror to the eyes and takes many lives in an instant - in the eyes of many, it is just a materialistic interpretation of the event! But now the event is not just in numbers, but it is as if it is seen with the eyes of the heart. Allah Almighty says, 'Many examples have passed away before you. So travel in the land and see what was the end of those who denied the truth. In that is a clear lesson for mankind and a guidance and an admonition for those who fear Allah.' (Surah: Ale Imran, verses: 137-138)

But the characteristic of the heedless, ignorant and disbelievers is to turn away from the signs of Allah. Whether it is the verses of the Quran or the clear signs of the power spread throughout the universe - nothing moves their minds. Allah says, 'The hour of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they turn away in heedlessness. Whenever a new reminder comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it in heedless condition - their hearts are in a state of deviation.' (Surah: Al-Anbiya, verse: 13)

Seeing any event, history and reality only through materialistic eyes - worldly thinking is a natural thing for people. Allah describes their mentality and says, 'And if they see a piece of the sky falling, they say, 'This is nothing but dense clouds!' (Surah: Tur, verse: 44)

We see the same attitude in the history of the nation of 'Ad. When they saw the cloud of punishment coming from Allah, they thought simply that it was a rain cloud. Allah says, “Then when they saw it approaching their valley, they said, ‘This is a cloud that will rain on us, but this is what you were hastening for – a strong wind, in which is a painful punishment.’

It destroyed everything by the command of its Lord, so that nothing remained visible except their homes.” (Surah: Ahqaf, verses: 24-25)

A believer never relies solely on material causes. He turns to Allah, the Creator of those causes, the Owner of the heavens and the earth. When He intends a thing, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is. The believer seeks His help so that he does not make a mistake like the son of Noah (peace be upon him).

When Noah (peace be upon him) said to him, ‘O my beloved son! Come up with us, and do not be with the disbelievers.’ The son replied in a completely materialistic way—‘I will take refuge in a mountain that will protect me from the water.’ Then Noah (peace be upon him) said, ‘Today there is no one who can protect from the command of Allah except for whom He has mercy.’ Then the wave came between them and he was among the drowned.’ (Surah Hud, verse: 43)

Have worldly-minded people forgotten—or deliberately pretended to forget—that the earth’s crust, the mountains, the sea—all are governed by Allah’s command? Allah Almighty says, ‘Then he turned his attention to the sky, while it was a cloud of smoke. He said to the heavens and the earth, ‘Come willingly or unwillingly.’ They said, ‘We have come willingly.’

(Surah: Fussilat, verse: 11)

He commands and the creation follows without hesitation. He holds them in their appointed position. Allah Almighty says, ‘Indeed, Allah holds the heavens and the earth together, lest they should break apart. And if they were to break apart, there is none who could hold them together except Allah.’

(Surah: Fatir, verse: 41)

What do the scientists say? They say, unexpected! But nothing is unexpected with Allah. It is as if Allah Almighty is drawing our attention to the tyrant, whose name was Qarun. When Allah bestowed upon him great wealth, he said ungratefully, ‘I have acquired this because of my own knowledge!’ This was his arrogance, his ignorance. As a result, punishment was inevitable—‘So We destroyed him and his house in the earth. He had no party to help him except Allah, nor was he able to defend himself.’ (Surah: Al-Qasas, verse: 81)

What has befallen us today, for which seismologists have not yet found a satisfactory explanation, is not a mere coincidence, but rather it points to the consequences of our actions, our moral degradation, and our mockery of Allah’s laws—lawful interest, promoting alcohol under cultural cover, mocking Islamic law, mocking the verses of Allah—are these not acts that invite punishment? Allah Almighty says, ‘How many a town was there that disobeyed the command of its Lord and His Messengers? And We made them face a severe reckoning and inflicted a terrible punishment. As a result, they suffered the evil consequences of their actions, and their end was complete destruction.’ (Surah: At-Talaq, verse: 89)

Punishment does not only come upon the wrongdoers, it is also a social test! Allah says, ‘And fear a trial that will not be limited to the wrongdoers among you.’ (Surah: Anfal, verse: 25)

Therefore, when sin, injustice, obscenity, corruption, and wickedness spread everywhere in society, then punishment falls not only on the criminals, but on the entire society.

Sin is more in the West, yet nothing happens to them—many people respond to this objection by saying, ‘In countries like America and Europe, moral degradation is many times greater than ours. Yet nothing happens to them! We say, it is a grave mistake to consider their external prosperity as security from punishment. When Allah is angry with someone, His punishment often does not come immediately,

Rather, Allah gives them respite so that they may continue to wander in confusion until one day they are suddenly seized. Allah Almighty says, “When they forgot that with which they had been reminded, We opened for them the doors of everything. Then, when they were overwhelmed with joy at what they had received, We seized them suddenly. And they were plunged into despair.” (Surah: An’am, verse: 44)

Allah's way is somewhat different for believers. If a calamity befalls the believers, it is not a punishment, but a lesson, a warning, and a merciful call to return. If a believer disobeys or follows the path of sin, Allah sometimes punishes him quickly, so that he wakes up, turns to repentance, and clings to the right path. Allah Almighty says, "Mischief appears on the land and the sea because of what the hands of men have earned, that He may make them taste some of the consequences of their deeds, perhaps they will return." (Surah: Ar-Rum, verse: 41)

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned us about these events long ago. For those who want to know the prediction of disasters like earthquakes, Sahih Bukhari mentions the hadith, “The Hour will not come until knowledge decreases, ignorance becomes widespread, earthquakes increase, and wealth becomes abundant, but no one pays much attention to it.” (Bukhari, Hadith: 7121)

Therefore, only a sincere return to Allah can save us from worldly losses.

A mysterious world after death

Human life is divided into three parts—the life of this world, the life of Barzakh, and the eternal life of the Hereafter. The life of this world is a place of testing, the Hereafter is a place of results, and Barzakh is a mysterious world between the two, where the soul remains after death until the Day of Judgment. The word ‘Barzakh’ comes from Arabic, meaning a wall, barrier, or partition. It is a screen between two beings that does not allow one to pass through the other.

Allah Almighty says: ‘He has let the two seas flow, they meet; yet between them is a barrier, so that they do not cross the boundary.’

(Surah: Ar-Rahman, verses: 19-20)

From here it is understood that Barzakh is an invisible boundary, which exists between this worldly world and the Hereafter. Immediately after death, the soul of a person enters this Barzakh and remains there until the Day of Judgment. When the time of death comes, the angels receive the soul of a person.

From that moment on, the next journey of the soul begins - from this world to the Hereafter. This is the life of Barzakh. The first stage of this life is the life of the grave, where a person faces a new reality with his body. The angels Munkar and Nakir come to him and ask him: ‘Who is your Lord? What is your religion? And who is your Prophet?’ If the deceased is a believer, then he is able to answer easily and his grave becomes a garden of Paradise.

He sees his place in Paradise and feels at peace. And if he is an unbeliever, his grave becomes cramped, begins to burn in the fire of punishment, and instead of Paradise, he is shown the terrible place of Hell. A special mystery of Barzakh is that even though the soul is completely separated from the body, it maintains a special relationship with it. The soul sometimes returns to the body, especially when angels come to ask questions or when friends and relatives come to visit the grave. At such times, the soul appears near the grave of the deceased and hears their voices and prayers.

However, this is not a reincarnation, but rather a temporary return that occurs at the command of Allah. The punishment and reward of the grave actually begin in the life of Barzakh. No matter how a person dies, whether in a grave or not, whether the body remains intact or destroyed, or even if it turns into ashes and scatters in the air, his soul and body remain in Barzakh. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When one of you dies, he is shown his place in Paradise or Hell in the morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, he is shown his place in Paradise; and if he is among the people of Hell, he is shown his place in Hell. Then it is said to him, ‘This is your place until Allah resurrects you on the Day of Resurrection.’” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1379)

This Hadith proves that the fate of people begins to be determined after death. Some spend their days in joy, some in pain, until the announcement of the Day of Resurrection comes. However, the souls of those who have believed in Allah and done righteous deeds remain in Paradise. They smell the fragrance of Paradise, feel peace, and rejoice at the sight of their place in Paradise. And the souls of those who are disbelievers, hypocrites, and sinners remain exposed to the fire of Hell. Their graves become cramped and intense suffering and horror surround them. They await eternal punishment, deprived of Paradise.

Even then, the deceased can recognize the people who visit his grave. He can hear their voices and the prayers of relatives, the rewards of isal-sawab and the rewards of reciting the Quran reach them. These prayers become a source of peace for them. It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), that three days after the infidels were killed in the Battle of Badr, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood by their bodies and addressed them by name, saying, ‘O Abu Jahl, O Umayyah, O Utbah, have you found the promise of your Lord to be true? I have found the promise of my Lord to be true.’ Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was surprised and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Are you talking to a body that has no soul?’ The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘You are no more hearing than those in Whose Hand is my soul, in hearing what you say. But they cannot reply.’ (Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2874)

However, the true picture and details of life in Barzakh are known only to Allah and the dead. The reality of this mysterious world is beyond human knowledge, which can only be understood after death. Therefore, since our death is inevitable and after it begins that life, which is a preparation for eternal life. Therefore, people should not be distracted by the temporary pleasures of this world, but should engage in good deeds for the life after death, obey the commands of Allah and stay away from sins.

Allah's boundless mercy towards His servants

There are many descriptive names of Allah Almighty in the Holy Quran. One of them is ‘Latif’.

The literal meaning of the word ‘Latif’ is, the Most Gracious.

Allama Abdur Rahman As-Sa’di (rah.) said, ‘Al-Latif’ is the Being who knows all the secrets, who conveys the benefits to the servants in a way that they themselves do not understand. He is ‘Khabir’ (All-Knowing) and ‘Rauf’ (Extremely Kind).

This name contains deep knowledge as well as subtle mercy. Allah is invisibly merciful to each of His servants, He arranges for their sustenance, guidance and welfare in a way that they never imagine.

In the Holy Quran, Allah the Almighty says, ‘Allah is Most Merciful to His servants.

He provides sustenance to whom He wills. And He is the Almighty, the Mighty. (Surah: Ash-Shura, verse: 19)

In this verse, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) has translated the word ‘Latif’ as the merciful, while Muqatil (may Allah be pleased with him) has translated it as the merciful. Another meaning is subtle.

Muqatil (may Allah be pleased with him) said, Allah is merciful to all His servants. Even the disbelievers and sinners are showered with His blessings in this world. Allah’s grace and mercy towards His servants are innumerable.

Allah’s provision is extensive for the entire creation. The provision of Allah reaches even the animals that no one knows about, living on land and in water.

The verse says that He provides sustenance to whom He wills. Allah Almighty has countless types of sustenance. Everyone receives sustenance suitable for life. Then He has placed different levels and standards in the distribution of special types of sustenance. To some He has given more sustenance of wealth. To some He has given health and strength, to some He has given knowledge and to others other types of sustenance. In this way, every person is dependent on others, and this dependence motivates them to mutual help and cooperation, on which the foundation of human civilization is based. (Qurtubi, Fathul Qadir)

According to some, ‘Lateef’ means helping secretly. For example, Allama As-Sa’di (rah.) said, ‘Allah’s Attributed Name Latif means that He leads the servant to such goodness that he never even realizes. For example, He guides the servant in a way that he does not even think of; the angels inspire good deeds in his mind; social worship such as congregational prayers, Hajj or Ramadan; through these, He connects the servants to mutual benefit.

Sometimes He limits some worldly desires for the servant, because it might make him heedless. This is also the immense mercy of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran, ‘Fighting has been prescribed for you, although it is disliked by you; and it may be that you dislike a thing, but it is good for you; and it may be that you love a thing, but it is bad for you. And Allah knows and you do not know.’ (Surah: Al-Baqarah, verse: 216)

Although this verse is mainly about jihad, sometimes Allah puts people in temporary hardship, to purify them, to strengthen their faith, to save them from the destruction of this world and the Hereafter - this temporary hardship is also given by Allah Almighty out of mercy. So that they can be protected from greater and permanent hardship.

Again, Allah Almighty shows mercy to some of his servants by giving them birth in good families or giving them the opportunity to be in contact with righteous servants, which helps them to become mentally pure and faithful. It helps them to seek lawful sustenance and be content with little. In short, we are under the shadow of Allah Almighty’s immense mercy at every moment. Therefore, we should be grateful to Allah Almighty at every moment of our lives. Try to guide ourselves towards the path of Allah’s pleasure.

Three Earth-sized planets discovered in deep space

Astronomers have discovered three Earth-like planets in deep space. An international team of researchers used NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite to detect the existence of these three planets. They say that these planets are orbiting a binary star system called TOI-2267. They are located about 190 light-years from Earth.

-Astronomers have discovered three Earth-like planets in deep space

The study, published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics on Friday (October 24), says that two stars orbit each other in TOI-2267, and three Earth-sized planets have been discovered around one of the stars.

This is the first binary star system in which planets orbit both stars, said lead author Sebastian Zuniga-Fernandez.

Scientists previously thought that complex planetary systems were almost impossible to form in the presence of two stars. But this discovery has changed that idea.

Researchers believe that this new discovery will play an important role in future observations and understanding the process of planet formation. Especially with the James Webb Space Telescope and advanced ground-based telescopes, more in-depth observations can be made.

Study co-author Francisco Pozuelos said that this system will show how rocky planets can survive in harsh environments. He said that this is the coldest and closest star pair discovered so far, where planets are orbiting both stars. This is an extremely rare occurrence.

Scientists believe that these new planets will open up new horizons for planet formation in the universe and will be a major step in understanding the diversity of planets in our galaxy.

Sun's mystery revealed: Invisible magnetic waves discovered

Scientists have made a breakthrough in unraveling the mystery of the Sun's excessive heat. They have directly detected invisible magnetic waves—Alfvén waves—in the Sun's outer layer, the corona, for the first time. These waves are generated by the motions of the Sun's interior and transfer energy to the outer layers. As a result, the Sun's outer layer is millions of degrees hotter than its surface.

-This discovery helps explain the million-degree temperature of the sun's corona

The observation was made using the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope in Hawaii, the world's largest solar telescope.

The study was led by Professor Richard Morton of Northumbria University in the UK. The research report says that using the telescope's advanced technology, the Cryogenic Near Infrared Spectropolarimeter, scientists were able to detect tiny twisting movements in the sun's hot plasma.

Professor Morton said that it is like finding a missing link after decades of research. The research is published in the international journal Nature Astronomy.

Nobel laureate Hannes Alfvén first proposed the concept of Alfvén waves in 1942. He showed that these waves move through a magnetic field like the vibrations of a guitar string. Although these waves have been seen during large solar storms, this is the first time that scientists have directly detected these tiny and permanent 'torsional Alfvén waves' in the regular environment of the sun.

The researchers say their new analysis method allows them to distinguish the effects of these waves from other motions in the sun's plasma. It shows changes in red and blue, indicating whether the waves are moving towards or away from Earth.

The discovery helps explain the million-degree temperatures in the sun's corona and provides new insights into the origin of the solar wind, which is emitted from the sun. The international study, funded by the UK, China and the European Union, will play a key role in future solar energy research and space weather forecasting.

How they reached the pinnacle of success

Life is not a bed of roses. Success in life does not happen overnight. Success has to be achieved. You have to work hard, concentrate and be confident. Behind the success of those who have always been successful in the world, there is a great history of ups and downs. Today's program is about the stories of a few people who went from ordinary to extraordinary by overcoming the mountains of failure-

Bill Gates

Despite the failure of the project, he was the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation

He spent most of his days in the college computer lab. One day, he created the MITS-4400 suitable for the Intel-8080 CPU with his friend Paul Allen

His full name is William Henry Gates. He was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, USA. His father, William Henry Gates Sr., was a famous lawyer. His mother, Maxwell Gates, was a director of United Way. He started his school life at Lakeside School. He graduated from there. At that time, he impressed everyone by scoring 1590 out of 1600. In 1973, he got the opportunity to study at Harvard College. At that time, he got close to different people. Steve Ballmer was one of them who later became the CEO of Microsoft. While studying at Harvard, Gates did not have any specific plans. He spent most of his days in the college computer lab. One day, he created MITS-4400 suitable for Intel-8080 CPU with his friend Paul Allen. After this discovery, Gates started dreaming of establishing a software company. He left Harvard. But he failed in the first project. Microsoft co-founder and childhood friend Paul and Gates created a machine called 'Traff and Data' together. It collected data from traffic counters and provided it to government traffic engineers. The traffic supervisor of Seattle came to the opening of the machine. But after turning on the machine, it did not work at all. Such shame did not come to Gates' life again. But he did not stop. He learned from the failure. Gradually, he made Microsoft successful. During these works, Gates had to face many problems. But he did not give up. With time, his journey of success began. In 1981, Microsoft Company was fully formed. He was made the CEO of the company. The board of directors was made chairman. He led the company as CEO until January 2000. Then he took over as chairman from the CEO position. He also joined the company as the chief executive of 'Architect Software'. Microsoft first started their commercial expansion on November 20, 1985. At that time, they were under contract with IBM. Later, in 1991, Microsoft separated from IBM and started working independently. Bill Gates married Melinda French on January 1, 1994. Bill Gates, a father of three children, is currently the richest person in the world. Gates and Melinda's married life did not last long. They separated in 2021 due to family disputes. Before his 32nd birthday, he was selected as one of the top four people in the influential list by Forbes magazine. He is the owner of about 72.7 billion US dollars. A huge amount of this money is deposited in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation every year to help the needy and helpless people of the world.

Elon Musk

But in reality, his path has not been smooth at all. From the beginning of his career to now, he has had to overcome a long struggle.

Lionel Messi

The best in the world despite hormone deficiency

A precious diamond was hidden in thousands of pieces of glass. Finding it was no small feat. But a Barcelona scout recognized the diamond piece that was playing in the dust of Rosario Centa again in a small field. The cute little child in the dusty clothes fascinated him with his football. Jorge Hosario, the child's father, was lucky. The boy started playing dribbling and dodging with the ball. The father was impressed by it. Someone got him admitted to Rosario's club Newell's Old Boys. Then suddenly came the bad news. The child was suffering from 'Growth Hormone Deficiency Syndrome'. The poor father could not afford to continue the treatment of the disease. Suddenly, everything went wrong. The color of his beloved child turned pale. The father was worried. This is the story of Lionel Messi's childhood. He was 13 at the time. He needed $900 per month for his treatment to recover from this disease. The sky seemed to fall on his father. The only thing he had dreamed of doing to overcome poverty was going to end day by day. Just then, the football scout came to Hosario with a message of relief. The 13-year-old child set foot in Barcelona holding their hands. Everyone was impressed by the charisma of the footballer with the ball. A deal was quickly made on tissue paper to take him to the team. After that, the child was taken care of at Barca's academy. Expensive treatment followed. Carlos Rexas was Barcelona's sports director at the time. He was the one who gave little Lionel Messi a place in Barcelona. Jorge Hosario Messi, who worked a small job in a factory, survived with bated breath. His wife was a cleaner. They had migrated to Argentina from Italy. Who knew that one day, the life of this Argentine couple would change with the help of the fourth son of the family? Everyone knows the story that followed. Messi was nurtured by talent at the Nou Camp club. Over time, his achievements were also known to fans. Messi, who came from a poor family, is today one of the 10 highest-earning athletes in the world. This fame and money have not changed the seven-time FIFA World Player of the Year. These dishes became quite popular in the Kentucky region due to his cooking skills. A few years later, he opened a gas station and opened a restaurant. At that time, his restaurant was quite popular. This success, achieved after much hardship, was again hit by misfortune. The highway junction was moved to another location. The busy traffic, people, cars and passengers decreased. The restaurant did not sell either. In 1956, he sold the restaurant for a low price. Sanders, who was dedicated to cooking, started looking for a franchise restaurant that would sell his chicken recipe. Sanders, who had been struggling all his life, finally found success in his life. By 1963, Sanders had started working with more than 600 franchise restaurants. In 1964, he sold the business to investors for $2 million. Who, a couple of years later, made the business a reality. Specifically, ‘Kentucky Fried Chicken’ was created; ‘KFC’ for short. By 1970, ‘KFC’ had about 3,000 restaurants in 48 countries. Currently, KFC has more than 20,000 outlets in 118 countries. This organization employs approximately 820,000 employees.

Allah's love is above all relationships and interests.

Giving the love of Allah and His Messenger priority over everything, even one's own life, is a requirement of faith.

Allah the Almighty says, "So, by your Lord! They will never be (fully) believers until they make you the judge in their disputes, and then find no hesitation in their hearts about your decision, and submit to it wholeheartedly." (Surah: An-Nisa, verse: 65)

Abdullah ibn Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were once with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he was holding the hand of Umar. Umar said to him: O Messenger of Allah! You are dearer to me than everything except my own life. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I swear by Him that I will not be dearer to you than your life. Umar said: Now, by Allah! You are dearer to me than my life. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Yes, now, O Umar! (Bukhari, Hadith: 6632)

Here, one's own life is mentioned, from the natural tendency of humans. But in terms of success in the Hereafter, the place of religion and ideals is above all worldly things. Realizing this, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) placed the love of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) above his own life. And it was then that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recognized the perfection of his faith.

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Whoever possesses three things has tasted faith: He who loves Allah and His Messenger more than anything else; He who loves someone for the sake of Allah alone; and He who hates to return to disbelief, from which Allah has saved him, as he hates to be thrown into Hell.” (Bukhari, Hadith: 16)

Abu Umama Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever loves for the sake of Allah and hates for the sake of Allah, and gives for the sake of Allah and withholds from giving for the sake of Allah, has perfected his faith.” (Abu Dawud, Hadith: 4681)

Allama Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote about the love of Allah: “It is something that the disputants argue about, the learned seek it, the pioneers rush towards it, the lovers devote themselves to it, and the worshippers find refreshment in its sweetness. In the love of Allah is the strength of the heart, the food of the soul, and the peace of the eyes.”

It is such a life force that whoever is deprived of it is as if he is truly dead, such a light that whoever loses it is as if he is immersed in the deep darkness of the ocean, such a cure that whoever loses it, all diseases take up residence in his heart, such a taste that he has not tasted, his life is full of pain. The love of Allah is the lifeblood of faith and action. (Madarijus Salikin: 3/8)
